The activities of the BM Fund follow two intersecting guidelines: on the one hand, the Fund disseminates and manages the artistic heritage of Jean-Marie Barotte, who passed away in 2021; on the other hand, it continues its activity as a research centre through specific actions.
The responsibilities of the BM Fund include the management of the artist Jean-Marie Birotte’s inalienable collection and of the works stored in the JMB Archives in the context of the organization of exhibitions, as well as the management of the artworks’ image rights and the provision of loaned artworks to museums and institutions.
To increase the chances of dissemination of Birotte’s work, the BM Fund will promote the digital platform of the JMB Archives among potentially interested partners (universities, research centres, art galleries, museums and institutions).
The BM Fund aim at spreading the painter’s work in Italy and abroad. Given the particularity of the artist’s language -spanning from formal art to philosophy and theatre- the Fund also encourages the creation of research-oriented projects in the artistic and scientific fields.
